The goal of the IAFA DAY Contest is to develop the IAFA (International AirField Award) Program and identify the best activators of the IAFA Program, activate airfields under the IAFA program.

The duration of the competition is 36 hours.

Radio amateurs from all over the world are invited.

General CQ – CQ IAFA

Ranges: 160m, 80m, 40m, 20m, 15, 10m.

The organizers recommend frequencies by type of modulation:

CW in the following locations: 1830-1880, 3540-3560, 7025-7040, 14050-14070, 21050-21070, 28050 – 28070.

SSB in 1840-1900, 3700-3730, 7060-7100, 14120-14200, 21150-21200, 28450-28500

.

. :: ENTRY CATEGORIES ::.

The credits are the connections between activators (who works from a QTH locator where there was an airfield), as well as between hunters (a radio amateur who does not work from a special QTH locator) and activators.

Emission of a single signal is allowed.

With each station of the IAFA-activator (stationary, mobile / M, field / R), one connection is counted for each aerodrome, on different bands and by different types of radiation (repeats – see the Repeats section).

!!! Important: for activators (mobile / M, field / P): for control it is necessary to provide: any evidence of work on the air from the declared areas QTH – airfield locators – at least one scan of a GPS navigator or mobile phone screen indicating the coordinates of a QTH locator (ideal option – scan of the QTHnow program), if regional legislation allows – one photo with time and place of work, against the background of plates of airfields or settlements included in the QTH-lockers of airfields.

This data must be sent along with the report.

Clarifications for Activators.

Activators are any stations operating from aerodrome areas included in the IAFA-RAFA program list. Participants must make sure that they work from the squares of the QTH-locators, in which the airfields that are valid for the IAFA-RAFA program are located.

Clarification for activators of the test group / M. If you are in in the square of the QTH-locator, where there is more than one aerodrome, then only one identifier is broadcast and reported in the report. After making 100 or more QSOs with this identifier, you can, without changing your position and if there is another airfield in the square, start working with another, new reference. Only in this case you will be credited with multipliers.

Mobile activators / M can operate from more than one airfield.

Stationary and field / P activators operate from one QTH-locator and activate only one airfield. Clarifications for Hunters.

Hunters conduct radio communications only with activators. Based on the submitted reports of the activators, virtual reports of the Hunters are made and on their basis the Results in the Classes-Categories are summed up.

Radio communication data with Activators will be credited to the Hunters for the IAFA Diplomas.

In DIGI classes, it is possible to conduct QSOs by any digital modes of communication (BPSK31, BPSK63, BPSK125, RTTY45). Repetitions in DIGI are allowed by any of the listed modulation-submodulation.

For activators class / M – condition: antenna and equipment must be located on the vehicle. Connection to an external power supply is not allowed.

For class / P activators – equipment and antennas deployed in the field. Connection to an external power supply is not allowed.

For stationary activators: work from one stationary place (airfield square).

.

. :: CONTROL NUMBERS ::.

Activators transmit RS (T) and 4-digit aerodrome identification code according to ICAO classification. For example: 59 (599) MMSM

4Y1A transmits RS (T) 59 (599) ICAO

Hunters send only the RS (T) report. For example: 59 (599) In DIGI classes in BPSK31, BPSK63, BPSK125, RTTY45 sub-mods – Activators transmit the IAFA identifier, For example: 59 (599) MMSM

.

. :: QSO POINTS ::.

For Activators:

Each QSO gives 3 points on each new band, each new mode.

A QSO with a radio station of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) – 4Y1A – gives 5 points.

Repeated communications are allowed on different bands and different types of modulation-submodulation.

For Hunters:

Based on the reports sent by the activators, virtual log reports of the Hunters are created. Each QSO with an activator is worth 3 points.

A QSO with a radio station of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) – 4Y1A – gives 5 points.

Repeated communications are allowed on different bands and different types of modulation-submodulation.

Links between hunters do not give points (do not count).

The result of hunters will be judged by the maximum number of results for contacts with activators. Hunters will be judged according to the reports sent by the activators.

.

. :: MULTIPLIER ::.

For Activators:

Each activated airfield (at least 100 QSOs carried out) – 3;

Each operated airfield under the IAFA – 1 program;

QSO with 4Y1A (ICAO reference) gives activators a multiplier of – 1, on each new band (regardless of modulation) – a maximum multiplier of 6.

There is no multiplier for Hunters.

.

. :: CALCULATION OF RESULT ::.

The product of the sum of points by a factor.

 :: NOTE TO OBSERVERS ::.

There is no scoring group for SWL.

.

. :: AWARDS ::.

The absolute winner in the class Activator / M, Activator / R, Stationary activator – awarded with a plaque from the “Fifth Ocean” club.

Activators who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category – the IAFA DAY-2021 sports medal and a certificate in electronic form.

For hunters, for 1, 2 and 3 places in each category – a sports medal IAFA DAY-2021 and a certificate in electronic form.

All activators who have established at least 100 QSOs and sent reports within the specified timeframe are awarded with certificates of the activator-participant in electronic form.

All hunters who have established at least 50 QSOs based on the results of virtual reports are awarded with certificates of the participant-hunter in electronic form.

.

. :: MO (MultiOprator) RADIO STATIONS ::.

The composition of the team in the MO / AB / MIX credit group is 2 or 3 people for all classes.

.

. :: REPORTS ::.

All activators of the IAFA DAY contest send reports on time and only in electronic form. Hunters are not required to send a report. Hunters are judged according to activators’ reports.

The results are calculated by computer using the QSO_T program, so the report must strictly comply with the Cabrillo format (Ermak). The discrepancy in time should not be more than 3 minutes.

The reports will be sent no later than 10 days after the end of the IAFA DAY contest.

Simultaneously with the reports, activators must provide to the address

IMPORTANT! RS (T) and identifier must be written separately in the report.
